Brandon Bohling created Plain Paper Consulting in 2008 after acquiring over 14 years of experience in the field as a middle school teacher, web/software developer, solution architect, and an enterprise architect. Along the way he has authored (and reviewed) technical books, spoke at conferences, as well as served on customer advisory boards at several of the world's largest software vendor companies. In addition, he has teamed up with several bright individuals to provide stellar services.

State of California
Established an EA process complete with a vision and strategy. Developed Business, Data, Application, and Technical Reference Models in support of the vision and strategy. In addition, created a tactical response to the vision/strategy and reference models including an As-Is assessment for each subject area followed by To-Be target architectures with a migration plan.

Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
Intel
Developed a flexible, service-based architecture for Intel that is vendor agnostic and can freely expand and contract without impacting service consumers. Architecture includes many capabilities such as virtualized endpoints, intermediaries, security, repository/registry, load balancing, protocol switching, transformation, and routing to name a few. Provided training on SO* concepts with an audience ranging from developers to executive staff members. Leveraged many methodologies/frameworks: Agile, XP, SCRUM, TOGAF, WSSR.
EA + SOA + WEB SERVICES + EDUCATION
State of California
Developed and implemented SOA infrastructure for State of California SOA Pilot. Responsibilities include development of As-Is and To-Be architecture, Vendor evaluation use cases, IBM WebSphere Message Broker (WMB) IBM WebSphere Repository/Registry (WSRR) configuration, Mock (.Net) Services, Regression/Load and Stress test script/plans with accompanying Knowledge Transfer.

Development
Intel
Developed a. NET-based (C#) application architecture framework for Intel that provided key capabilities so developers could focus on business logic and not have to worry about coding security, logging, caching, etc. Created training material for a 2-day and introduction class for application architecture that focused on the developed framework. Led to over 100 teaching hours worldwide at Intel campuses.
